OLD SHOREHAM CHURCH.

James Gray: Four photographs [jgc_38_170, 171, 172 and 173] of this church taken during the last century. I was told the two sepia prints were taken in 1883, and the other two are dated by the donor to me as dating probably from 1893. All four emphasise the then rural setting of this church. jgc_38_170,  jgc_38_172 and jgc_38_173

2018: View from the north-east. The land in the foreground is gardens of houses in St Nicholas Lane and The Street. A house called Tara now stands on the site of the barn to the left of the church. (Photographer: Jeremy Knight)

2018: View from the south-west. Trees, as ever, obscuring the view but otherwise unchanged. (Photographer: Jeremy Knight)
