James Gray: Many years later, 12 February 1967, a close up of what now remains of St. Peters Street. jgc_25_250

2018: View of St Bartholomew’s Church looking north along St Peter’s Street at the junction of Pelham Street and Cheapside. The only other building still existing from 1967 is the one on the left, now covered in graffiti and containing student flats. (Photographer: Jane Jordan)

James Gray: Looking along St. Peters Street to the Church, December 1963. jgc_25_252

2018: St Peter’s Street is now a roadway over only half its former length – it has become a walkway and cycle path at the northern end. Most of the garages have been removed from the ground floor of the block of flats on the corner of Cheapside. (Photographer: Rebecca DeConinck)

James Gray: St Bartholomew’s Church, period unknown, perhaps about 1913. jgc_30_096

2023: The c1913 photo was taken looking north up St Peter’s Street towards St Bartholomew’s Church (now Grade I listed) in Ann Street. In 2023 the northern section of St Peter’s Street is pedestrianised, and the roadway diverts to the east to join the remaining section of Providence Place, seen here on the right leading to Ann Street. The modern day photo was taken outside No 6, St Peter’s Street. (Photographer: Alan Hobden)
