2018: The southern end of Providence Place has seen significant change. The left-hand side has been cleared to make way for an open central green area between the new housing in St Peter’s Street and what remains of Providence Place. Losing almost half its length, the street now ends at the graffiti-clad wall beyond which are storage buildings supporting some shops in London Road. (Photographer: Jane Jordan)

James Gray: Looking along this narrow street from Cheapside end to St Bartholomew’s Church and Ann Street, with the backs of the houses in St Peter’s Street at the left – 7 March 1964. What few private houses there were in this street were in that section to the north, facing the side wall of the church. jgc_10a_083
