2021: The grandstand in the James Gray image was erected in 1895 and replaced in 1934 whilst the current stand was built in 1965. The mill stood where the radio mast is now just visible centre right on the horizon. Some of the blocks of flats in the Whitehawk estate can be seen below the horizon on the extreme right.
