ATLINGWORTH STREET

Atlingworth Street

Neighbourhood:
Kemptown
pre-1914
2018

James Gray: Photographs of two of Kemp Town’s lesser known streets, with a good view of the Rock Brewery premises in the distance. A photograph dating from before the First World War. Note the gas lamps, the number of Estate Agent’s boards advertising houses ‘To let’, not ‘For sale’, a sure clue to the period. jgc_22_022

2018: Whilst the street is largely the same the Rock Brewery has been replaced with the Somerset Day Centre. (Photographer: Guy Shanley)
