STIRLING PLACE

James Gray: Stirling Place on 16 January 1966. Soon afterwards the house bearing the street nameplate, No.4, was demolished so that the empty site, with the open space to the left, could be used for a Corporation car park. The buildings at the rear, at one time used in the motor trade, had been disused for many years.  jgc_14_160

2018: In 1966 this was the site of a Corporation car park. In 2017- 2018 as part of the redevelopment and expansion of the site of St. Andrew’s School the car park was modernised and dedicated to the exclusive use of the school. There is a passageway to the right of the gates which provides access to the Tesco store on Church Road. (Photographer: Ivor O’Mahony)
