James Gray: A photograph of August 1986, when the low commercial building was likely to be demolished. This was of recent origin and had a fairly short life. jgc_31_124

2018: Housing has replaced the long low commercial building referred to by James Gray. (Photographer: Frances Lindsay-Hills)

1992
2021

James Gray: This view is taken from the same spot [as jgc_31_124] six years later, on 4 May 1992. By then five houses had replaced the business premises. This infilling of small areas with houses in central districts is to be commended. In the distance, the roofs of similarly recently built houses in Centurion Road. jgc_31_125

2021: Just under thirty years on, the only significant difference in this view of St Nicholas Road, apart from the style of cars, is the style of pavement protection bollards. (Photographer: Mathia Davies)
