NORTH STREET.

North Street (Shoreham)

Neighbourhood:
Shoreham
1870
2018

James Gray: A family grouped around an old cottage in North Street, Shoreham. A recent copy of an original photograph said to have been taken about 1870 – note the woman’s crinolines. Not being very familiar in Shoreham, I do not know when the cottage was removed or what is there today. jgc_38_164

2018: This appears to be the same view. It is on the north side of the street judging from the shadows. Most of the north side is now modern but the main part of the house on the left of this picture could predate the original photo and be the building on the left. The flint wall and street layout seem to justify the location. (Photographer: Jeremy Knight)
