RURAL PORTSLADE.

Mill Lane

Neighbourhood:
Portslade and Southwick
1930s
2019

James Gray: The scene is described by the donor of the photograph as ‘Top of Present Foredown Drive, Portslade.’ I can add nothing to this, except to guess that the period was the 1930s. jgc_38_045

2019: The area around the top of Foredown Drive is now very built up and no longer a rural setting. There is no certainty that this is the same wall. There are several others in the vicinity and the original may no longer be standing but this one does bear a striking similarity not only in appearance but also in orientation and topographically. (Photographer: Jeremy Knight)
