INVERNESS ROAD

Inverness Road

Neighbourhood:
Round Hill
c1914
2018

James Gray: Probably copied from a postcard, this is the only photograph I have ever seen of this small prosaic street running from the Lewes Road to Upper Lewes Road. As there are only eight houses on the north side of the street, the picture probably shows the entire street; period unknown. Most likely just pre-1914. jgc_28_028

2018: The main visual change is the number of parked cars lining both sides of the street. Whilst in the original photo most of the houses were probably family homes, out of the eighteen houses in the street, thirteen are now listed as HMOs (Houses in Multiple Occupation).
