James Gray: Some of the staff, and an early motor van, outside Tate’s Southern Cross laundry, about 1908. The laundry was on the site of the present 206 Old Shoreham Road, where the approach to it can still be seen. jgc_38_021

2020: Tate’s laundry occupied at least two buildings situated between what is now Foredown Drive and Romany Close. The site today is occupied by residential accommodation in Romany Close and by two light industrial units on Foredown Drive. (Photographer: Kevin Wilsher)
