James Gray: Houses on the north side of this road, looking west towards Home Road. jgc_18_155
2018: Thanks to the Grade II listed status of 28 North Road, little has changed over the years and the exterior of the building is still very recognisable from the original image. (Photographer: Jane Jordan)
James Gray: Looking east down the road. The houses on the right are those which have since been demolished and replaced. In the recess at the left stood the old-established Potter’s Forge. jgc_18_158
2018: The former Potter’s Forge is now occupied by a property management company. Further down on the left, a new housing development is underway. (Photographer: Jane Jordan)
James Gray: This photograph is taken from Home Road, showing the backs of the same houses as shown in jgc_18_155. jgc_18_156
2018: Visibility from Home Road is now obscured. This latest image of the back of 28 North Road and its neighbour has been taken from the back garden of No 38. (Photographer: Jane Jordan)
James Gray: Photographs of 12 February 1967. This view show a block of houses 39/57, North Road, probably mid-Victorian, which are to be demolished before long with those in Middle Road, seen on the previous page. Although these little houses had little architectural merit Preston Village will not seem the same without them. jgc_18_193
