James Gray: These three photographs (following) of the Downs Estate were taken during the 1920s but the exact year is not known. This is of houses high up on the east side of Seaview Road. The one with the front veranda remains but the adjoining house has gone. jgc_33_053

2018: The original bungalows were replaced by extensive developments in the 1960s. (Photographer: Ron Fitton)

James Gray: A little later, perhaps about 1925 or so, the view down Seaview Road towards Warren Road. It was not until after incorporation with Brighton, in 1928, that these rough earth tracks were made up. On the left a standpipe for supplying water. jgc_33_079

2019: The road is still lined by bungalows. If any original buildings remain, they have been altered since the 1920s.  (Photographer: Ron Fitton)
