Albion Hill and Carlton Hill redeveloped area
James Gray: Two photographs – this [jgc_27_078] and following [jgc_27_079] – of the strangely named Dinapore Street and the Live and Let Live Public House, from Richmond Street. Period 1962 and 1964. This street, along with Liverpool Street, was demolished in December 1965. jgc_27_078
2018: With the exception of Albion Street, all the thoroughfares that branched off Richmond Street/Albion Hill were swept away in the great slum clearances of the 1960s.
James Gray: View along a street with an unusual name, Dinapore Street in April 1956. At the junction with Richmond Street and the ‘Live and Let Live’ public house. The barrier across Richmond Street, to stop runaway traffic, has been there for many years. The gap in the houses on the left was the result of bomb damage in the 1939-1945 War. jgc_27_082
